One of our favorite options for fun no matter what time of year is duck pin bowling at 10 Pins Franklin. Along with bowling the whole family will love, they have food, drinks, and an arcade.

A Festival Country favorite, The Historic Artcraft Theatre is currently available for rentals and weekend concessions. Gather up the family and enjoy locally grown popcorn and one of their many classic movies on 35mm film. 

Try something new at Johnson County Axe Throwing in Whiteland. Not only is it a fun sport for everyone, it’s also a great activity for groups.

Get moving with roller skating at the Franklin Skate Club! Kids under 10 years old can skate for free during certain hours, and they offer lessons for beginners.  

Climb, explore and learn at Kid City at the Greenwood Community Center. This two-story playground boasts a three-dimensional climbing structure and STEAM-focused activities that teach topics like science, art and technology. There’s even an interactive music garden. You’ll also find a wide range of gym and fitness spaces in the community center. 

Hi-Way Lanes is a staple for the classic bowling experience. Go on Friday and Saturday nights for cosmic bowling, Wednesday nights for 25 cent games, or stop by during their daily open bowl hours.

Run and play until your heart’s content at Urban Air Adventure Park. This huge adventure complex has enough games, trampolines, and exciting features to keep the family entertained for hours.

For something a bit more serene, try painting your own pottery at uPaint Pottery Studio or create paintings, mugs and more at You are the Artist, both in Greenwood. They provide all the tools you need to create a new masterpiece. It’s the perfect place to spend one of these chilly winter afternoons.

Explore your family’s genealogy or experience pioneer days at the Johnson County Museum of History. Not only is it full of rich history and engaging exhibits, but there are plenty of hands-on activities for everyone to enjoy.
