What better way is there to celebrate the arrival of strawberry season than eating them? Strawberry shortcakes will be served from 11 a.m. until they run out at East Court Street on Friday. This festival will also feature live music and other foods.
Franklin Family Aquatic Center opened a week earlier, but now all three of Festival Country's aquatic centers will be open for splashing fun, great slides and more.
3. Farmer’s Market
There will fresh farm produce and other items available at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. There is one in Franklin on Jefferson Street near the courthouse, and one in Greenwood at 525 N. Madison Ave.
Free admission to all ages has a nice ring to it. The performing artist, The Endless Summer Band, also has a nice sound. Come out to Mallow Run Winery, 6964 Whiteland Road, Bargersville, this Saturday to kick off the Picnic Concert Series from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be food trucks, live music and of course wine. There will also be a Sunday concert from 2 to 5 p.m. You can also buy the new Mallow Run poster while you’re there!
Here is your chance to be a part of something huge in size and meaning! The Memorial Day Mile is the largest mile race in Indiana. On Monday, there will be a competitive and family-friendly 1-mile walk/jog beginning at 9 a.m. near the Johnson County Courthouse in downtown Franklin. The walk is to remember and honor those who lost their lives while fighting for our freedom. After the race, there will be a Memorial Day service at the courthouse beginning at 11 a.m.
