Edinburgh on Ice: A Guide to the Skating Rink

As the holiday season approaches, there's a brand new reason to get excited, and it's cooler than ever. An outdoor ice skating rink is set to make its debut in downtown Edinburgh, turning the downtown into a winter wonderland. This temporary ice rink promises to be the perfect setting for winter family fun, date night, or simply embracing the joy of the season. Enjoy this winter oasis every day from Dec. 13 to 24. 

The location

Downtown Edinburgh will become an even more festive destination with the addition of this synthetic ice skating rink. Surrounded by the charm of Edinburgh's historic streets, shops and restaurants, it's the ideal location for a winter attraction that anyone can enjoy.

The rink will be set up across from the Edinburgh Public Library, which is located at 201 W. Main Cross St. in downtown Edinburgh.

Dates to remember: Dec. 13 to 24

Mark your calendars to enjoy this winter experience from Dec. 13 to 24. Locals and visitors alike can lace up their skates and revel in the joy of the season. Public skating hours are Dec. 14 from 5 to 10 p.m., Dec. 13 and 15 through 23 from 6 to 9 p.m., and Dec. 24 from 3 to 5 p.m.

Outdoor ice skating will be part of Edinburgh's 12 Days of Christmas event filled with daily activities like trolley rides, vendors, food trucks, movies and more. Their annual Holiday of Lights celebration will be on Dec. 14 from 5 to 10 p.m.

Price

Skating is only $5 per hour per person, which includes skate rental. Participants are welcome to bring their own skates if they prefer.
