Area youth ages 8-17 will have a chance to take to the skies in a plane for free. Greenwood Public Library is partnering with the Indy South Greenwood Airport and the Experimental Aircraft Association for a Young Eagles Flight Rally. Greenwood Public Library will also host a paper airplane contest with prizes and STEM activities with their GPL Makerspace – The Studio and kids department. After completing the activities and a tour of the new Aeronautical Center of Technology at the airport, it will be time for flight. Participants must hold a valid library card and must register at the Greenwood Public Library ahead of the event. The library will send required paperwork to participants ahead of time. Greenwood Public Library will provide some snacks, but attendees are welcome to bring a lunch to enjoy while completing the stations and waiting to fly.
