The perfect time (and place) for disc golf

Autumn is my favorite time to get out for a hike, a bike ride or, best of all, a round of disc golf.

Festival Country Indiana is home to four awesome disc golf courses, including one that just opened this summer. The courses are beautiful and enjoyable in the spring and summer, but they’re even better in the fall because of the colorful leaves, the perfect temperatures and the fact that the bugs are pretty much gone for the year.

The new course is at Johnson County Park in Edinburgh. It features 18 holes and was put together with assistance from disc golf enthusiasts.

Another great course is the 25-hole, 7,236 foot course at Blue Heron Park in Franklin.

I also have a blast at Grassy Creek Disc Golf Course in New Whiteland, which features 18 holes among hills and woods.

And last but not least, Freedom Park and Disc Golf Course in Greenwood is a good time.

Make it a weekend and play all four courses. Click here for lodging options ranging from B&Bs to hotels to camping.
