Everything is more festive just south of Indy, and that means USA250 celebrations are more festive, too. This is the home of exciting fireworks displays, drone shows and iconic summer celebrations.
Here's where to celebrate America's 250th in Festival Country Indiana.
Fireworks
Enjoy a fun evening of food trucks and fireworks with friends and family at Night of Fireworks on June 28 from 8 to 10:30 p.m. at Gracehouse in Whiteland. This event is a free community event for all ages.
The biggest event of the year, Freedom Festival, will be on June 27 from 4 to 10:30 p.m. at Craig Park in Greenwood. Entry is free and there will be a parade, food vendors, a beer and wine garden, a drone show, live music and an impressive fireworks display to conclude the evening.
On July 2, celebrate America's 250th anniversary with a fun evening of festivities and fireworks at Fireworks on the Range. This celebration is located at Hickory Stick Golf Club in Greenwood. Festivities begin at 5 p.m., featuring live music by Tastes Like Chicken, with fireworks scheduled to light up the sky at 9:45 p.m.
Attend America's 250th Celebration at Greenwood VFW with smoked barbecue specials and fun festivities on July 3 beginning at noon. There will be a treasure hunt drawing, karaoke and fireworks.
Another favorite is Franklin Firecracker Festival which takes place at the Youngs Creek Park amphitheater on July 3 from 5 to 10:30 p.m. Enjoy food vendors and a beer and wine garden starting at 5 p.m., live music starting at 5:30 p.m. (with Blue River Band at 7 p.m.), and a fireworks show starting at 10:10 p.m.
Join Mt. Pleasant Christian Fellowship for an Epic Night of Fireworks on July 3 from 6 to 10:15 p.m. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy an evening of live music, great food and a fireworks show.
On July 4-5, enjoy a full weekend of patriotic fun at Mallow Run Winery during Red, White & Blueberry Festival. To celebrate the season, they’ll be releasing their famous blueberry wine and blueberry hard cider. Saturday, July 4 will also include a 7 p.m. concert by This Bishops and a fireworks show (entry is $10 per car after 5 p.m.). Sunday, July 5 features a 2 p.m. concert by Park Avenue Band and free entry.
Enjoy fireworks, food trucks, bounce houses, a car cruise-in and live music at Edinburgh Firecracker Festival on July 4 from 5 to 9 p.m. Fireworks will be launched by the water tower on School Hill around 10 p.m.
Johnson County Park will be hosting its annual Sparks in the Park event on June 26 from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Enjoy live music at the amphitheater, inflatables, food, beer, wine and a fireworks show. Admission is $5 for those 13 years old and older.

Concerts and events
Join the Grand Lodge of Indiana for a memorable Founding Father's Day weekend celebration as they honor America's 250th anniversary with an open-air colonial festival like no other. This event features a day filled with history, heritage and hands-on fun. In partnership with the Daughters of the American Revolution, guests will enjoy kid-friendly activities, period demonstrations and lively interactions with famous colonial characters who bring America's founding era to life.
Church on Jefferson is hosting a Freedom Gala on June 26 with a gourmet dinner, live music by Boogie Nights Band, dancing, a photo booth, drinks and more. Tickets are $250 per couple and can be purchased here.
Trafalgar will celebrate with a themed parade, food vendors, face painting, temporary tattoos and a patriotic concert on June 27. The parade begins at 11 a.m. and music begins at 1 p.m. at the new Trafalgar amphitheater at 335 Pleasant St., Trafalgar.
Throughout the year, Johnson County Public Library will host events for America's 250th. The Voices of a Nation: America 250 concert series will take place on June 29, July 25 and Sept. 3 at the Trafalgar Community Amphitheater, 335 Pleasant St., Trafalgar.
Go to the Semiquincentennial Celebration on June 29 at 6:30 p.m. to learn historical facts about Johnson County and the United States of America, presented by museum director David Pfeiffer. Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a sweet treat at the America’s 250th Birthday Ice Cream Party on July 3 from 3 to 4 p.m. at Greenwood Park Mall.
On July 4, the Edinburgh Aquatic Center will hold a Fourth of July Party to celebrate America's 250th anniversary with special concession treats, games and prizes every hour, and DJ music. Admission is a $1 for everyone.
Photo opportunities and souvenirs
Head to to the Festival Country visitor center, located at 66 S. Water St., Franklin, to find a special exhibit featuring a giant neon American flag and a Statue of Liberty photo opportunity, and a giant Declaration of Independence (which you can sign). You'll also find limited-edition 250th posters, ornaments and puzzles for purchase.
